Hinsdale High School District 86 has named a new director of human resources.
Domenico Maniscalco was hired by Superintendent Bruce Law, the first administrative hire Law has made since becoming the district’s leader. Maniscalco is expected to begin his contract with the district on Dec. 2.
The School Board approved Maniscalco’s appointment at its Nov. 6 meeting. His annual salary will be $120,175.
Maniscalco has been employed at Niles Township District 219 in Skokie as the senior human resources administrator since 2009. In his position he oversees all aspects of the department including benefits, health and wellness, labor negotiations, employee relations, policy, evaluations, compensation and pensions as well as the department’s $10 million budget and the district’s $48 million budget for employee salaries.
Maniscalco previously worked for seven years in the corporate sector. Most recently, he was employed as a human resource business partner with United Airlines overseeing human resources for a 900-employee airport region and specializing in labor grievances, health and wellness, and company compliance. Prior to 2007, Maniscalco served as a human resource manager with Hennis & Mauritz in its Chicago corporate office and as a human resource administrator with Paisans Ristorante Italiano in Gurnee.
Maniscalco is pursuing his doctorate in educational leadership from National Louis University. He earned both his master’s degree in organizational leadership and his bachelor’s degree in human resource management from Judson University.
