Emceed by NBC-Channel 5’s Andy Avalos, the all-day event featured a Texas Scramble-style tournament; celebrity contest holes with WTMX’s Eric Ferguson and former Chicago Bears Shaun Gayle, Emery Moorehead, Mickey Pruitt and Glen Kozlowski; breakfast, lunch and dinner and silent auction. The event attracted more than 370 participants.
Hosted by Event Chairman Jim Ryan along with Co-Chairmen Bob Berti of River Forest and Mike Smith, the event raised more than $308,000 for Catholic Charities’s Child, Youth and Family Services Programs, which directly supports thousands of families a year who are in urgent need of food, clothing, rental and housing assistance.
The Michael R. Sheahan Founder’s Award was presented to Co-Chairman Mike Smith, senior vice president of commercial banking at Cole Taylor, for his ongoing support of the Golf Invitational, serving as a co-chairman for four consecutive years. Nick Mokelke, general manager at Cog Hill, was recognized for celebrating his 50th Anniversary at Cog Hill.
