BURR RIDGE — It took just over an hour for customers to gobble up nearly all of the inventory at this year’s cookie walk at St. Peter and St. Paul Orthodox Church in Burr Ridge.

Event organizer Mary Raschke said this year’s sale was a big success.

“We had more people and more sales,” she said.

Thirty-two bakers prepared their finest baked confections and candies for the sale, which has become a tradition in the church and surrounding community.

“We had more than 250 pounds of cookies,” Raschke said “That’s a lot of sugar and butter and nuts.”
