Maggie Jablonski’s best game at Hinsdale South’s Head Pin tournament was her first one.
But the Hinsdale Central junior could not come close to her tournament-opening 211 Monday night at Willowbrook Lanes.
Jablonski finished as the Red Devils’ top bowler at the Head Pin tournament, taking 35th with a six-game total of 937 pins at the eighth annual tournament.
The tournament was considered an unofficial conference meet with all nine teams from the West Suburban Conference competing, but the scores did not count toward the conference standings.
The Red Devils will try to extend their season at 9 a.m. Saturday at the Hinsdale South Sectional at Willowbrook Lanes.
Hinsdale Central’s only senior is Taylor Galandak, who placed 47th in the Head Pin tournament.
“My co-captain Katie (Trchka) and I plan on coming back (next season),” Jablonski said. “This is my third year in the program. The thing about the team is that everyone has become really close this year.”
The Red Devils (4,570 pins) finished ninth and could not get out of last place after the midway point at three games. The team bowled 2,312 in its first series and 2,258 in its second series. The Red Devils rolled a team-high 815 game in the fifth round, but then scored 718 to tie for its lowest round in both Game 3 and Game 6.
Downers Grove North placed eighth with a 4,624 total.
Jablonski was followed in the individual standings by teammates Zoe Wong (38th, 909), Trchka (44th, 845), Caitlin Wong (45th, 826) and Galandak (47th, 776).
