Juarez’s boys soccer game Monday at Nazareth is one of the first cancellations due to the Chicago Public Schools strike.
Nazareth athletic director Duane Buturusis released the following statement Monday morning: “Due to the contract disagreements between the CPS and the Chicago Teachers Union, we have been notified by Juarez H.S. that they will be forfeiting today’s games (varsity & sophomore) due to this strike. There will be no attempt to reschedule this match this season. All soccer teams will practice after school at Sedgwick Park.”
