WOODRIDGE — Rosanna Lederhausen accomplished something her older sisters were never able to do for Hinsdale Central’s girls golf team.

Lederhausen shot a 1-over-par 73 Wednesday to become the first girls golfer to win the West Suburban Conference championship all four years. Lederhausen’s older sisters, Rebecca and Alexandra, split conference championship titles over the course of their careers. Alexandra even won the Class AA state championship in 2006, but never won four conference titles.

Rosanna Lederhausen won by four strokes over teammate Jacqueline Bruns at Village Greens of Woodridge. Hinsdale Central (310) easily won the conference title for at least the seventh consecutive year. The Red Devils swept the top five spots; Colleen Ahern (79), Madelyn Swank (81) and Cailee Beisswanger (82) finished 3-5. Addison Trail’s Gianna De La Cruz (82) took sixth place.

Lyons (340), which lost to the Devils 155-173 in its dual meet Sept. 5, was led by Jameson Mitchell’s 84 for seventh place. Lyons’ Ciara Rattana (84) and Rachael Johnson (85) were eighth and ninth.

Lederhausen birdied three holes while beginning at No. 17 for the shotgun start. The biggest highlight of her round turned out to be a par-4 at the 255-yard 12th hole. To avoid water on the sharp dogleg right, the senior from Hinsdale pulled up, but faced a difficult approach shot.

“I had to hit over tall trees, so I hit a club up,” Lederhausen said. “It was the most perfect shot. It was pretty cool. I’m still happy about it and I just made par.”

Lederhausen’s approach was a 127-yard shot with an 8-iron.

Lederhausen’s first two conference titles came in sudden-death playoffs against former Glenbard West standout Brooke Kochevar. As a sophomore, the playoff included a third member in Bruns.

“It’s sad,” Lederhausen said. “It’s very sad. I probably will never play here again. I had a good time playing in conference meets.”
