Boys basketball: Gordon Tech beats Nazareth 53-49

Gordon freshman guard Octavius Parker drained three 3-pointers in the fourth quarter down the stretch as they beat Nazareth 53-49, according to High School Cube News.

THE SKINNY

Gordon Tech earned the school's 1,000th all-time win by scoring the last 14 points Saturday night in the second annual Weber Shootout against Nazareth at Northwest Middle School in Chicago, which the Rams called home until 1999.

TURNING POINT

Nazareth (6-2) took a 38-26 lead in the third quarter before the Rams (5-3) were ignited late in the third quarter when scorer Chris Flores injured his left ankle and had to come out of the game. Christopher Swade (game-high 23 points, four 3-pointers) gave Nazareth a 47-36 lead, but the Roadrunners could score only one more basket.

THE STAR

Freshman guard Octavius Parker scored nine points, with his three baskets coming on fourth-quarter 3-pointers to lead the Rams down the stretch.
