THE SKINNY

Hinsdale Central (13-5, 5-1 WSC Silver) never relinquished the lead against the Hilltoppers (7-9, 1-4), but nearly blew a 13-point halftime advantage and a 10-point fourth quarter cushion. The Devils kept the Hilltoppers at bay by going 10-of-12 from the line in the fourth quarter and got key defensive rebounds from junior center Matt Rafferty to preserve the road conference win on Friday.

TURNING POINT

The Devils, up 50-47 with 48 seconds left, went coast-to-coast after a timeout with crisp passes from junior guard Jordan Bradshaw to Rafferty to senior forward Grant Lillard, who finished the play with a layup to make it a two-possession game once again.
