A major upset as Hinsdale Central's Brian Allen falls on the road, according to High School Cube News.
Saturday at the Illini Classic, Lincoln-Way East senior Nick Allegretti stole the show.
Allegretti, a 285-pound Illinois football recruit, was named the tournament’s Most Outstanding Wrestler after handing Hinsdale Central state champ Brian Allen, a Michigan State football recruit, his first defeat in two seasons.
In front of his home crowd, Allegretti won the match via escape in sudden death overtime after Allen was forced to give up bottom position due to an unsportsmanlike conduct call. The final tally was 5-4, with both managing escapes in the two overtimes prior.
