Fenwick football takes shutout win over De La Salle

THE SKINNY

Fenwick (7-1, 3-0) took advantage of three big De La Salle special team mistakes to jump out to a 20-0 halftime lead in the Catholic League White road game.

TURNING POINT

The Friars' Richard Schoen returned a punt 63 yards for the first score of the game with 2.6 seconds left in the first quarter. A muffed catch by the Meteors on a punt return led to a 37-yard TD pass from Gino Cavalieri to Schoen with 5:39 to play in the second quarter. The final mistake came on a roughing-the-punter penalty by De La Salle (5-3, 2-1), which would lead to a 13-yard TD run by Robert Spillane with 37.4 seconds remaining in the second quarter.
