Glenbard South’s dominance on the track continued on Friday night as the girls team won its fifth consecutive sectional crown capturing the Class 2A Glenbard South Sectional.
The Raiders ran away with the meet they hosted, scoring 138 points to easily beat out Montini (2nd, 86), Fenwick (3rd, 70.5) and Trinity (4th, 52.5).
“We’ve won all four years I’ve been here,” said Glenbard South senior Katelyn Hill. “We ran great, threw great and jumped great. That’s all you can ask for.”
Hill helped Glenbard South to the title with three first place finishes and a second place finish. She won the 100-meter intermediate hurdles (14.92 seconds), took second in the 300 low hurdles (45.47) and was part of the 400 relay (1st, 50.05) and 1,600 relay (1st, 4:04.06).
