"Hinsdale South 28, Morton 0
Hinsdale South needed a victory to have any shot of earning a repeat trip to the playoffs and used a dominating defensive performance to get the job done. Hinsdale South (4-4, 4-1) must go on the road and beat Downers Grove South in the regular-season finale to become playoff eligible. The Hornets would also clinch at least a share of West Suburban Gold title with a win over Downers South.
A poor snap over the head of the Morton punter with 6 minutes, 55 seconds left in the first quarter gave Hinsdale South possession of the ball at the Mustangs’ 12. Alex Holmstrom made them pay for the mistake with a 12-yard touchdown run on the next play to put the Hornets up for good at 7-0.
Senior defensive lineman Antanas Riskus helped the Hornets record their first shutout of the season. He had two quarterback sacks and three tackles for loss despite playing limited minutes in the second half."
