THE SKINNY

When Carmel’s girls basketball team has struggled this year, it’s typically early in games. When the Corsairs win, they take control early and don’t let go. That’s what happened Saturday at Salvi Gym in Mundelein as Carmel (19-7, 3-5 ESCC) led by eight at the end of the first quarter, 32-23 at the break and cruised to a 20-point win.
