Girls basketball: Hinsdale Central, Fenwick among those battling in weekend tournament

The 24th annual Chicagoland Prep Classic this weekend will again draw Hinsdale Central, Fenwick and Trinity, according to High School Cube News.

The McDonald’s Chicagoland Prep Classic will begin its 24th edition Friday and Hinsdale Central coach Tom McKenna has been there for nearly all of them.

McKenna’s former team, St. Ignatius, and Maine West are the only teams that have participated in every McDonald’s Classic, which will be held again at Willowbrook in Villa Park this weekend. St. Ignatius opens the girls basketball showcase at 6 p.m. Friday against Warren.  

McKenna’s Hinsdale Central squad will follow on the court at 7:30 p.m. Friday when the Red Devils meet Andrew.
