Hinsdale South's Sydney Kopp got hot late both offensively and defensively as the Hornets took down Leyden, according to High School Cube News.

THE SKINNY

Hinsdale South (9-10, 5-2 WSC Gold) was in control for most of the game, but had trouble finishing the job. Leyden (6-9, 0-5) erased an eight-point Hornets' lead in the third and a seven-point lead in the fourth, but were answered by clutch baskets from senior Hornets' guard Mary Claire Ladd and sophomore guard Sydney Kopp, who combined for 14 points in the second half.

TURNING POINT

After Eagles junior guard Alondra Chavarria left the game with 1 minute, 26 seconds left with an ankle injury, Kopp drew a foul on the ensuing possession and sank a pair of free throws to give the Hornets a 47-43 lead.
