THE SKINNY

Lyons (14-8, 6-5) avenged a 50-39 loss to OPRF (9-15, 3-7) suffered on Jan. 10, winning 62-47 over the Huskies in a West Suburban Silver rematch on Tuesday. Outside sharpshooting and solid defense in the first half had the Lions up 36-21 at halftime and 50-30 by the end of the third quarter.

THE TURNING POINT

Lyons built an early lead on the hot outside shooting hands of guards Nina Scaramella and Vicki Swift. The Lions’ victory turned on their ability to then exploit a considerable size advantage over the Huskies in the second half.
