Members of the 2013 Hinsdale Central Red Devil boys soccer team will cheer on participants in the annual Kick It In For Chicago Kids or KICK Soccer Tournament at the Hinsdale Central High School tennis courts.
This event, from noon to 3 p.m. on Sept. 22. combines soccer skills and fancy footwork (no hands allowed) as teams compete with one another on tennis courts in fun-filled matches. All funds raised go directly to Schools Count Corporation, which provides much needed school supplies for students in Chicago area schools.
In this seventh year of the tournament, members of the boys soccer team hope to add a substantial donation; in six years’ time, more than $23,000 has been raised for Schools Count Corporation. Dick Flesher, a former Hinsdale Central teacher and soccer coach, has made this nonprofit organization the focus of his life’s work in his retirement years. In recent years, Schools Count Corp. has focused upon providing supplies to students in Chicago’s inner city schools.
The six senior members of the planning team are J.D. Garnett, Max Krohn, Christian Meyer, Mitchell Meyer, Manos Proussaloglou and T.J. Schmidt.
