LA GRANGE PARK – Nazareth Academy football player, Michael Masterson, has waited four years to be the starting running back for the varsity team, this year he got his chance, High School Cube News reports. According to High School Cube News,
"It’s been four long years, but Michael Masterson finally got the chance to start at running back for Nazareth.
That opportunity came Saturday as Masterson became one of the leaders of the Roadrunners’ running-back-by-committee in their season opener at Proviso East.
The Roadrunners registered a 35-12 win over the Pirates, which went winless a year ago but have a new coach in David Odom.
Masterson scored the Roadrunners’ initial TD of the season on a 1-yard plunge with 2:18 remaining in the first quarter. It was his first career TD, which was set up by a Proviso East fake punt that went for an eight-yard loss."
