Hinsdale Central's boys soccer team ended last season with undefeated, the West Suburban Silver title and Christian Meyer at their head, High School Cube News reports. According to High School Cube news, this year, the soccer star intends to push the team even further.
"Christian Meyer has just one speed in soccer.
“I have often referred to his play as relentless, and that is really on both sides of the ball,” Hinsdale Central coach Michael Wiggins said.
The Red Devils forward stands alone this year, symbolically and otherwise. With St. Charles East's TC Hull rehabbing a torn ACL and Barrington sophomore Kendall Stork playing club, Meyer is the lone returning all-area player in action.
Meyer is also the last member of his family on the team. His twin brother Mitchell was part of the Red Devils’ two-keeper system last season, but elected to focus on training with the Chicago Fire Academy program this year.
“It’s a bit different not having him around, but it’s good for Mitchell,” he said."
