Wrestling: Hinsdale Central junior emerging after freshman year struggles

Hinsdale Central's got a big meet on Saturday, at the Lyons Regional, and they'll be led by a junior star who struggled mightily as a freshman, according to High School Cube News.

Hinsdale Central junior Matt Price never once considered giving up wrestling his freshman season, despite the lumps he took on the mat.

“I didn’t do well,” Price said. “I had a 1-6 [varsity] record. Coach let me wrestle on the freshmen team most of the season, but I kept practicing with varsity. I lost a lot at practice and got beat by a lot of kids, but it made me tougher. I was driven to improve.”

The perseverance paid off for Price.
