Hinsdale Central junior Matt Price never once considered giving up wrestling his freshman season, despite the lumps he took on the mat.
“I didn’t do well,” Price said. “I had a 1-6 [varsity] record. Coach let me wrestle on the freshmen team most of the season, but I kept practicing with varsity. I lost a lot at practice and got beat by a lot of kids, but it made me tougher. I was driven to improve.”
The perseverance paid off for Price.
