The Hinsdale Central Hall of Fame Homecoming weekend was a high point in my life. After graduating in 1967 and returning to teach and coach for the next 35 years, I was very impressed with the dignified way we were welcomed back and honored. This great honor exceeds my Boys and Girls Illinois High School Association gymnastics association hall of fame inductions and national coach of the year honor.
It gave me great pride and added respect for the community that continues to demonstrate such class.
As we toured the high school, the students showed courtesy, focus and respect to us and their teachers in their classes. The facilities are amazing, and the programs impressive. The chef and restaurant class did a tremendous job making and serving lunch, the pep rally participation (band, pom poms, cheerleaders) were all excellent.
The Hinsdale Golf Club was the perfect place for the dinner, and the homecoming parade and our half time recognition at the football game was well organized.
Thank you Robert Mortimer for your involvement as president of the foundation. And Jeanne Anderko, administrative assistant for your detailed coordination of the events.
This was a great weekend and one I will never forget and always appreciate.
I want to thank Hinsdale Central for this honor into their Hall Of Fame. Hinsdale is a special place and I can think of no better community my family and I would have more lovingly dedicated our lives to.
