Charlotte is “really elegant, wise and kind of a motherly figure to the animals on the farm,” said Sara Moss. She ought to know. The Lincolnshire resident plays the kindhearted spider in the College of Lake County Theatre Department’s production of “Charlotte’s Web” at 3 p.m. and 7 p.m. Saturday, Oct. 5, and 2 p.m. Sunday, Oct. 6, at the James Lumber Center for the Performing Arts, 19351 W. Washington St., Grayslake.
“Charlotte wants to make her friends happy and save Wilbur’s life,” Moss added. Wilbur is the pig who fears he may become someone’s dinner in the E.B. White classic. The play features all the favorite characters from the book, including Fern, Templeton the Rat, Goose and Gander.
Moss said that children who see this show, “will understand what it is to be a good friend and what it is to have compassion for somebody else and not think about yourself all the time.”
Tickets are $7.
