There will be plenty of activities to keep kids smiling at Clarendon Hills Park District’s Family Fall Festival — and it’s free. The event runs from 3:30-6:30 p.m. Saturday, Sept. 21 at Prospect Park, 315 Chicago Ave.
“We have wagon rides, face painting, a petting zoo, an 18-foot fire engine slide, an obstacle course and a nine-hole mini putt golf course,” said Steven Thomas, superintendent of recreation. Unlike most places that use tractors for their wagon rides, Clarendon Hills will have real horses.
“Once again this year, we will have a pumpkin carver there and the pumpkin will be raffled off at 6 o’clock,” Thomas reported.
Thomas noted that the park district has run the festival for years. “It’s our biggest event,” he said.
Food vendors will be selling kid-friendly items, including hamburgers, hotdogs, bratwurst and pizza. Local organizations will set up informational booths.
