Gerda and Kai are faithful friends until one day when Kai is snatched away by the wicked Snow Queen. Undaunted by dark forests, unsavory characters and the long road ahead, Gerda sets out to find her beloved companion and bring him home. 4. WSBA Western Springs Christmas Walk Festival of Trees, 2 p.m. Saturday
Visit Western Springs' shops for holiday treats, get photos with Santa at Heartland Bank, see reindeer and a snowman, listen to live holiday music and see the tree lighting at 4:45 p.m. Downtown Western Springs, 914 Hillgrove Ave., Western Springs. Free.
