Visitors took a step back in time Dec. 8 at the Robert Vial House’s monthly open house.
Built in 1856, the house at 7425 S. Wolf Road in Burr Ridge was originally located on Plainfield Road, on the property that would become the Timber Trails Golf Course. The house was moved to its present location in 1989 and restored for use as a museum by the Flagg Creek Heritage Society.
The home is filled with furniture and household items from Robert Vial’s era. This time of year, the house is decorated for the holidays, complete with a Victorian-style tree.
Located on the property of the Pleasant Dale Park District, the historic home is open from 2 to 4 p.m. the first Sunday of the month and most Thursdays from 10 am. to 12:30 p.m. most Thursdays, and other times upon request.
